summary: A brief statement of the main ideas and significant supporting details presented in a piece of writing
transition: A connecting word or phrase that clarifies relationship between details, sentences, or paragraphs.
citation: A quoting of a passage from a text for substantiation or support of a thesis. Within a paper it may be a footnote, an endnote, or a parenthetical documentation.
