Reminders to parents

Dear Parents,

Here are a few reminder:

Students must hand in all homework and projects the day they are due. If they are not in they will receive a zero (0).

There will be an ELA exam on Friday for all classes

5 and 6 will have a Religion on Monday

Each students has to spend at least 40 minutes on IXL. This is to be done at home. I will be checking to make sure the minutes are being completed. This program is set up to help you child master skills learned during class. Please remind them to complete the 40 minutes of ELA time.

Noun Phrases: A noun phrase consists of a noun and all its modifiers.                                    Verb Phrases: A verb phrase consists of a verb and all its modifiers.                                    Gerund Phrases: A gerund phrase is simply a noun phrase that starts with a gerund.              Infinitive Phrases: An infinitive phrase is a noun phrase that begins with an infinitive.    Appositive Phrases: An appositive phrase restates a noun and consists of one or more words.                                                                                                                        Participial Phrases: A participial phrase begins with a past or present participle.                  Prepositional Phrases: A prepositional phrase begins with a preposition and can act as a noun, an adjective or an adverb.

An adjective prepositional phrase will come right after the noun or pronoun that it modifies. If there are two adjective prepositional phrases together, one will follow the other. Only adjective prepositional phrases modify the object of the preposition in another prepositional phrase.

Note To Parents

Weekly Vocabulary words

2. verbal: in grammar, a word or phrase, especially an adjective or noun, that is derived from a verb.

4.citation: the act of citing or quoting, or the passage or source so cited.
