Welcome Back to the 2015-2016 School year

Dear parents,

I would like to welcome you all back to the new school year. For those of you who do not know, I'm the 5-8 grade ELA teacher, and 5-6 grade Religion teacher. This year we will be working on a lot of new areas, focusing on the New York State Common Core Standards. Here are a few pointers to help you through this school year:

1. https://www.engageny.org/  This is a website that all teacher will be using to help guide instruction. There is a parent section that will help you follow along with what your child or children is learning.

2. All students must have a Gmail email account. I recommend keeping it simple. First and last name, and keep the password simple. We will be using this in class for word documents, power points, and any other form of projects.

3. No parent is allowed to contact a teacher without making an appointment first. That is done by speaking with Alba. Monday- Friday 7:45-8:00 and 3:05pm to 3:20pm.

4. Homework will be written on the blog Daily so it is important for you and your child to stay on top of checking their work.

5. Do not forget to check cornerstone, students behavior, effort, and grades will be update there. If there is a question on your child's work and grading you will find it there.

6. The books that students are reading with Mrs. Larios are required to be brought to ELA class.
