Research Assignment:
The Seven Sacraments and You
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), the sacraments
are “efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the
Church, by which divine life is dispended to us” (CCC 1131). The seven
sacraments are ceremonies that point to what is sacred, significant and important
for us as Christians and followers of Christ. They are special occasions for experiencing
God's saving presence.
The seven sacraments are:
 Baptism (CCC 1213-1284)
 Reconciliation (CCC1422-1498)
 Confirmation (CCC 1285-1321)
 Anointing of the Sick (CCC 1499-1532)
 Eucharist (CCC 1322-1419)
 Holy Orders (CCC 1536-1600)
 Matrimony (CCC 1601-1666)

TASK: Use the seven sacraments to research further using the Catechism of
the Catholic Church and one or two reputable Roman Catholic websites. Once you
have made notes on the sacrament, complete the following requirements in Parts A, and  B

Part A: About the Sacraments
1. Description each Sacrament (4 to 5 detailed points in a list)
Then, describe the sacrament fully by listing four to five points about the sacrament you researched in your own words based on the Catholic sources you used.
2. Importance of the Sacrament (6 to 8 sentences in a proper paragraph)
Based on your research, why do you think this sacrament is important to Christians?

Part B: The Sacrament’s Symbols (5 Marks)
Identify three appropriate symbols which best represent the sacrament
provide a visual image of each of the symbols (3 marks). Clearly label each symbol
