4th Grade Help For summer project

Dear Parents,

Please look in your child's notebook for the help they received on the book report, also the clarifications that were made to their misunderstandings.

The summer project is still due September 14

FIVE ELEMENTS OF PLOT

Beginning
 1. Introduction or Exposition—where you introduce your characters, establish the setting, and present the primary conflict, usually in the first chapter.

Middle
2. Rising Action—section where a series of events occur to build up to the conflict. Each succeeding event is more complicated than the previous, creating tension and excitement.

 3. Climax—major turning point of the story where everything converges and main character must make life-changing choice, leaving reader to wonder what will happen next. Sometimes referred to as “the final battle.”

End

4. Falling Action—winding up of your story. Events and complications are resolving, and the consequences of your character’s choices are revealed.

5. Resolution—the conclusion of your story, which may have a happy or tragic ending.
