Vocabulary

Due to ITBS last weeks vocabulary test will be on Tuesday.

logic: An organized use of evidence, facts, and examples to support an argument or thesis.

organizational patterns: The pattern in which the writer chooses to organize his writing.  Examples:  spatial, order of importance, chronological order, comparison-and-contrast, cause-and-effect, problem-and-solution.

bias: An inclination for or against that inhibits impartial judgment; one-sidedness, partiality, partisanship, prejudice.

bibliography: A list of all the resources (articles, books, encyclopedias) consulted during the research of a paper or report.


outline: Arranging main ideas and supporting details in a logical order.  Uses Roman numerals for the main ideas, and capital letters and Arabic numerals for the supporting ideas.
