Weekly Vocabulary words

Cause: a person or thing that acts, happens, or exists in such a way that some specific thing happens as a result; the producer of an effect

consequence the effect, result, or outcome of something occurring earlier 

conflict A state of open, often prolonged fighting; a battle or war. A state of disagreement or disharmony between persons or ideas; a clash

obscurity  the state of being unknown or forgotten; something that is difficult to understand
ominous  suggesting that something bad is going to happen in the future

prejudice:  an unfair feeling of dislike for a person or group because of race, sex, religion.  a feeling of like or dislike for someone or something especially when it is not reasonable or logical   
       
epidemic  a rapid spread or increase in the occurrence of something

perceived  to become aware of, know, or identify by means of the senses

duration   the length of time that something exists or lasts

courage the ability to do something that you know is difficult or dangerous


casualties: one who is injured or killed in an accident
